Natural Dwellings Architecture is committed to the design of functional and creative spaces that will result in a minimal impact on our planet and health. Architecture is the response to our need for shelter and place within our environment. We believe that a building should express its relationship to its site and to its inhabitants. ND Architecture seeks to combine vernacular building knowledge with modern technologies in energy and materials.

Meghan Hanson is an architect and artist who has worked in the Intermountain West for the past 19 years. After attending college in Bozeman, MT, she moved to the Teton Valleys of both Wyoming and Idaho. There she worked with two great architectural firms and was involved in several LEED-certified projects. Simultaneously, she and her sister Kathleen started Hanson Illustration and have worked with a wide variety of clients, from the Forest Service to private developers, in creating hand-drawn & painted images. In 2008, she started Natural Dwellings Architecture to design custom residential homes focusing on energy efficiency, sense of place, and building science. In 2012, she became a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC).

Meghan grew up in the Bitterroot valley of Montana and moved back in 2013 to continue work as an architect through ND Architecture and with Hone Architects & Builders. She is a former member of the Driggs (ID) City Design Review Committee, Stevensville (MT) Planning & Zoning board, and is currently a board member of the Bitter Root Land Trust. Meg is often found scheming up some travel plan, running around the country, or foraging in the Bitterroot and Teton mountains.
